Pulled Into the Frame

Pulled Into the Frame

Experimental portrait created by keeping the subject in the frame while zooming the lens during a slow exposure. The resulting radial blur pulls the surrounding light and environment toward the subject, creating a surreal and distorted feeling.

Portrait from the fake spiderweb set with purple and red lighting. The composition creates an unsettling feeling, almost as if the subject is being secretly watched.

The Story

For me, this shoot wasn't just about the photographs. It was the beginning of finding a community where I could experiment, learn, and keep getting better at photography. Since this was my first time meeting the FPC team, the shoot was also a really interesting social experience. I got to network, meet a lot of people with similar interests, and see how other photographers approached the same environment in completely different ways. I went home that day feeling like I'd found a really good photography community. I had experimented with techniques I hadn't really tried before, met a bunch of interesting people, and came away with some photographs that I genuinely loved.
