Eclectic Art
First semester freshman year, September/October · ASU Art Museum
The Fashion Collective at ASU (TFC) invited me to photograph an Eclectic Art shoot at the ASU Art Museum. This was actually one of my first photography gigs ever, so I was pretty excited about the whole thing. I did this during my first semester of freshman year, around September or October, when I was still pretty new to ASU and figuring my way around campus.
When they invited me to the ASU Art Museum, I honestly thought it was the one near the Brickyard. Let me tell you—it was not. 😂
It was a completely different spot, and it ended up being one of the coolest places I'd discovered on campus.
The shoot was directed by Kara, and it was my first time working in an environment that felt this professional: there was a director, models, a defined theme, and an overall creative vision that we were working toward. I was still relatively new to photography, so I was excited to see how everything actually came together on a real shoot.
Black & White
Removing color allows focus on structure — composition, lighting, subject, shapes, and contrast. When color is gone, attention shifts to the bones of the image.

Looking back now, I think this shoot was one of the seeds that eventually grew into everything I've continued doing with photography at ASU. I really loved the experience, and it pushed me to seek out more opportunities to create, collaborate, and eventually become more involved in the photography community myself.
